
Dr Mike OIiver

Mike is the founder and owner of Health Literacy Matters. He is a registered Health Psychologist and Chartered Psychologist. Prior to becoming a psychologist, Mike worked in the corporate sector for over 20 years, specialising in organisational change.
He now combines this experience, and his skills as a health psychologist with his passion for health literacy, which he believes is a unique combination to help health and care organisations become more health literate. Mike gained his initial health literacy experience whilst working in the Public Health team at Stoke-on-Trent City Council. He now works nationally on numerous health literacy projects.
He is a Director of Health Literacy UK CIC, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to raising the profile of health literacy. Mike is a Visiting Fellow at Staffordshire University. Mike also runs Health Psychology Matters Ltd, where he specialises in supporting people with sleep issues and provides expertise in workplace health and wellbeing.
